Today, Discoverers and Voyagers began learning a poem by heart.
We looked carefully at the features and vocabulary used in the poem, 'the Land of Counterpane'. The children then learned this poem by using images and creating actions to help remind them of the words in each stanza. We learned about some poems having a great rhythm, so they also used this to support them in reading the poem aloud.
The children read very well and we will practise this in the coming lessons to see if they can remember this consistently.
