As part of Physical Development, we have enjoyed taking part in dough gym exercises.
Dough gym is a fun whole body exercise, with a focus on developing the shoulder and elbow joint, moving towards strengthening the muscles in hands and fingers. By using a small ball of dough, the children manipulate it by rolling, squashing and squeezing. These exercises to develop the finger muscles will support the children on their journey to manipulate tools and pencils, ready for when they start to write letter shapes and words.
