Paul Nash(1889 – 1946)
Today we started a unit of work based on paintings by WW1 war artist, Paul Nash.
Inventors and Pioneers investigated the use of light and shade in Nash's paintings before experimenting with the mixed media of charcoal and chalk to recreate the effects.
Tomorrow we will use another media, pastel, to add colour whilst still considering light and shade.
On Friday we intend to bring these skills together by recreating one of Nash's most powerful paintings - "We are Making a New World".
We look forward to showing you our final pieces and celebrating how our art skills have progressed!
