The children were very excited to write their invitations to their bears to invite them to our pirate day! Yesterday we walked to the post box to post home our invitations..
As part of learning about where we live, we looked on Google maps to identify our school area. We used our language of first, then, next to talk through our route to the postbox. We zoomed into the map to identify some of the physical features that we would see on our journey. In small groups we followed our route. On the way we had two roads to cross, where we learnt about crossing the road safely with an adult. At the post box we listened carefully to the various addresses to identify our own. The best part was posting our letters.....where will they go next? When will they arrive home?
