    Poppy knitting

    29 October 2018 (by admin)

A few weeks ago, the Inventors and Pioneers received a special visit from the Bishopsteignton knitting group.

The children were taught how to use both knitting needles and their fingers to knit poppies, in honour of the Armistice Centenary, which is on the 11th of November. We were amazed at how quickly the children picked up this skill and so pleased that many children decided to carry on this hobby at home. Today, the children were able to see their completed poppies, which will be displayed in the village on the railings from the WW1 memorial to the Ring of Bells. From Monday 3rd November, you should start to see the display in the village coming together. How wonderful that children from Bishopsteignton School have been part of this beautiful, historic village event that we are sure will be remembered for years to come!
