This week in Literacy the children will be writing letters home in the role of an evacuee.
To help them think about how an evacuee may have felt at the time, the children took part in an hot-seating activity. They each took it in turns to pretend they had been evacuated from the city to the countryside and the rest of the group asked questions about what happened on their journey and how they felt along each step of the way. The children asked some really insightful questions and thought really carefully about how to answer them from the perspective of a child living through the Second World War. What a great start to our new unit!
