Discoverers and Voyagers had a brilliant day full of activities run by our visiting author, poet and illustrator, Kev Payne.
During our morning assembly, the children learned more about what being an author, poet and illustrator is really like. Kev talked about how he was inspired at a young age (as young as lots of our children here at Bishop) when creating his own stories and turning them into books.
In the afternoon, the children played around with the names of various foods based on one of Kev’s poems and created their own ideas and rhymes. There were cucumbers, shoecumbers, bluecumbers, chewcumbers and even moocumbers! The illustrations the children created to accompany their ideas were fab.
Hopefully the children have been inspired to play with words a little more.
