This week, the children delved into the colourful world of Wassily Kandinsky.
They were fascinated by his abstract style and bold use of shapes and colour. Along the way, they also discovered links between Kandinsky’s work and that of Salvador Dalí, another abstract artist they learnt about in the Autumn term.
Inspired by Kandinsky’s famous circle paintings, the children created their own stunning wheel designs using vibrant colours and repeating patterns. Each one is unique and full of personality!
The wheels are now complete and look absolutely amazing on display. They’re all set for the next exciting step—loom weaving—which will add texture and another creative dimension to their artwork. We can’t wait to share the finished pieces with you!
