We explored how images can be transferred from one surface to another using a variety of tools and materials. We began by sharing words that came to mind when we heard “printmaking,” helping us build our understanding of key vocabulary such as ink, stamp, texture, and monoprint.

During the lesson, we experimented with techniques including monoprint, relief print, rubbing, stamping, and string painting. We rotated through different stations, using materials like paper, card, fabric, ink, and paint, and recorded our creations in our sketchbooks.

To finish, we reflected on our favourite techniques and prints, sharing the textures, patterns, and effects we enjoyed. It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity in action, resulting in a fantastic range of imaginative prints!
