This week, Voyagers and Discoverers continued to learn about river features by studying satellite images and terrain maps of local rivers!
Working in pairs, the children compared different types images and maps of a section of a local river, to spot features such as estuary, confluence, meanders and tributaries. The activity encouraged teamwork, careful observation, and lots of brilliant geographical discussion and reasoning around whether it could be a specific feature. It was wonderful to see the children confidently applying map-reading skills and making connections with their classroom learning.
