World Book Day 20265 March 2026 (by admin) |
Pioneers and Inventors have had an amazing time 'making space for reading' for World Book Day!
World Book Day aims to inspire every child to enjoy the benefits of reading and this year we have seen LOTS of inspiration from different books through the children's incredible costumes, conversations and work around reading. Our children have thoroughly enjoyed sharing their favourite stories with one another and we have loved creating extra pockets of time throughout the day to see the children immerse themselves in different worlds! The rich conversations they have had around authors, characters and storylines has been so lovely to listen to and they have been incredibly reflective about the importance of World Book Day.
"Reading is so important because it helps your mental health and keeps you calm and takes you into characters worlds where you can relax, zone out and not feel overwhelmed."
"Reading improves your vocabulary, spelling and understanding of punctuation and means that we can read and learn all day everyday."
"World Book Day inspires people to read and we’re looking at inspirational people our 'Get Inspired' Topic, so World Book Day is inspiring us too!"
"This years World Book Day really links to our learning because, when I read a book, I take things from stories that I like and make everything into my own story with the best bits. It’s like that in school because I take all the things I’ve enjoyed and learnt every day and share it with others, it's like a story of my school day."
"World book day is so important because it boosts your imagination and encourages everyone to read for pleasure".
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the family and friends that supported our lovely children with their incredible costumes and WELL DONE to Years 5 and 6 for your fantastic attitude towards reading today and every day!
