British Science Week 202613 March 2026 (by admin) |
This year, the BSW focus was all centred around curiosity and asking questions. To commemorate Science Week, Year 5 and 6 did a few different experiments which really pushed them to ask their own questions, and to work scientifically to think of ways they could answer them.
We explored ecosystems, looked at how they are interconnected, and considered what happens when different elements of ecosystems worldwide face increasing pressures - either natural or caused by mankind.
We then, along with many other classes, asked the question, 'What is the best design for a paper aeroplane?' The children thought very carefully about how to ensure this was a relaible scienfic test, which would end up with a set of results that we could measure. They worked sensibly and collaboratively in their teams and all reached the same conclusion, which they agree meant that their tests were most likely very trustworthy!
