Pioneers and Inventors were surprised to find a new classmate eager to get inside and join our learning today.
After lots of interesting discussion about what the bird could be called... " a big bird?" "a multi-coloured chicken?" " a turkey?" "a ferret?" we established that he was indeed a pheasant and some of the Inventors decided to call him Pierre.
Lots of children commented on how beautiful his feather patterns were and how his neck feathers seemed to change colour. It was lovely to have the opportunity to see this animal up close. We were surprised by how many children had never heard of or seen one before!
