To kick start the topic 'Materials' in science, the children learnt about states of matter and how they behaved.
The children had a lesson filled with observing, acting, explaining and discussing. They learnt about the different states of matter and how their properties. We discussed questions such as; if sand can flow is it a liquid? The children even explored jelly and shaving foam, which act like a solid but are not solids!
At the end of the lesson, they worked in groups to present their understanding of the three different states of matter and it was great to hear the scientific vocabulary.
