We enjoyed learning all about the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III.
The children demonstrated British Values, as well as Bishop Values of collaboration and curiosity to make some beautiful crafts to commemorate the Coronation. We learned that over the weekend, as well as a royal crowning ceremony at Westminster Abbey, there will also be a procession, a big concert, community lunch events and a day of volunteering. We also learned all about the St Edward's crown, which was made in 1661 for another Charles - King Charles II, which is a copy of an older crown thought to have been used since the 11th Century! What an historic event!
