This week in Science, Discoverers and Voyagers have kicked off the Animals topic by investigating invertebrates.
We researched some different native British species of invertebrate that we might expect to find in our local area. We then went outside and collected data from various locations around the school site including the field and forest school areas to see what varieties we could find and how many there were.
The children then looked at the data for any patterns and compared some of their observations. They had great insights about why some creatures favoured certain habitats.
We will look again at the end of this half term and see if there have been any changes over time.
