Beach Schools Assembly
23 January 2019 (by admin)
Today we had Ally from Beach Schools come to talk to the whole school in assembly. The main discussion points were around Beach Safety and Pollution.
The children were reminded about what the flags meant on the beach, the role of the lifeguards and what to do if you got in trouble in the water. When discussing pollution, Ally did a quick experiment to show the impact of what happens when wet wipes are flushed down the toilet instead of tissue paper causing 'fatbergs' that harm the wildlife and take weeks to remove. As ever, our children already had lots of knowledge about these subjects which they enthusiastically shared with our visitor!
