The Explorers were so excited to have a visit from Shaldon Zoo and to have hands on experience of Giant Land Snails. Hissing Cockroaches and Stickinsects!
We found out lots of amazing facts about each of the Minibeasts such as; a stick insect has it's skeleton on the outside of it's body and that cockroaches use their antenna to smell the air! We also had the opportunity to explore a range of artefacts including a Tarantula skin, snake skin and feathers from owls and parakeets. A big thank you to the Shaldon Zoo keepers for making our introduction to learning about Minibeasts so exciting!
