This week, Year 6 were lucky enough to have the Director of Procurement from Peninsula Purchasing and Supply Alliance in to talk to them about her scientific background.
The children learnt about how money is spent within the NHS and how resources are collaboratively purchased across hospitals in the South West. They also discussed the circulation of blood around the body and looked at a stent and pacemaker, as well as having the opportunity to closely examine a pig's heart! The children thoroughly enjoyed carrying out practical elements and listening to an expert in the field of pharmacology.
