As part of our ‘Get Inspired’ Topic we have started looking at the work of Alexander Calder.
We looked at different kinesthetic sculptures Alexander Calder has created and learnt about how he pioneered moving sculptures. The children discussed how personal artwork is and how different people’s perceptions of it are. We also discussed how aesthetically pleasing different sculptures are and how we can use them to inspire our own designs. The children had great fun practicing manipulating wire and we can’t wait to see them develop their designs as they create their final pieces!
